semi-automatic transmission #18
by Jeff Kochan
The aesthetic possibility of a nostril
coils in the creative framework
rapidly expand into game trails.
Rodents punctuate the confusion.
Once when I took your hand
a nail jiggered into the gutter.
A hook in a fish’s mouth recalls
the offers we couldn’t refuse.
I’ve been doing push ups daily,
getting ready for the end times.
Oncomice no longer live
the ecology of their ancestors.
Are we now a living fuel source
for the anatomy of fruit flies?
Dolphins pulse through the oceans.
Lizards flop over in the surf.
